Overview

This project aims to identify and resolve key usability issues that hinder the online shopping experience on Walmart’s website and mobile app, to enhance user satisfaction and overall engagement.

Problems & Solutions

Problem 1 - Violating user freedom

Problem:
"Users need to be
conscious about clicking the white space to avoid unintentionally being redirected while closing the search menu."
Solution:
*The background is now blurred, allowing users to click anywhere to close the search bar without worrying about accidentally being redirected.
Problem:
Users can't scroll through the recommendations under search in absence of scroll buttons.
Solution:
*Added Navigation arrows to scroll through the recommendations.
*
The recommendations can also be scrolled in absence of nav arrows too.

Problem 2 - Time-Consuming Image Preview Flow

"Users have click and open the product every time to check whether they want the product or not"

Solution:
*The add button is moved down letting the user see the preview of full image without opening the product every time.
Information hidden: Whether its federal or state tax

Picture hidden: How big/small the head of the vacuum cleaner looks.

Picture hidden in desktop version too.
Fixing this is important as users usually decide to buy a product by looking at the image of the product from recommendation before adding it to the cart.

Why to solve this?

The problems give the user a bad experience. The more time they take to decide the more chances of them looking for other e-commerce site for better option.
Seamless interaction, chances of user staying in the website and buying the product.
More products the customers buy, leads to increase in revenue.

Usability Testing: Before Redesign

" Validating the proposed solution "
