As a gamer and VR enthusiast, I love the immersive experience of watching gaming videos on YouTube in virtual reality. Inspired by this, and my interest in live gaming streams, I set out to bring Twitch into the VR space.
My goal was to develop an engaging VR platform that mirrors Twitch’s streaming features, letting users discover and interact with live channels directly in a dynamic virtual reality environment.

GUIDELINES

FIGMA TO UNITY

Designing Twitch's core UI in figma, focusing on the main home screen layout and essential components.
Imported UI elements into Unity as sprite images, aligning and scaling them within a World Space Canvas to achieve proper VR placement.
Used Twitch desktop screenshots to help map out how key UI elements would work in VR, making it easier to prioritize and align features.
Unity Environment and Setup:
-
Set up a WSC to render UI in 3D space.
-
Integrated XR interaction toolkit for oculus link to allow controller-based interactions.

UI & INTERACTIVITY
-
Implemented controls (i.e. Scrolling) by scripting.
-
All the channels act like a CTA, which leads the user to watch the stream.
